WHAT'S EXPECTED

Dear FaithMADE Team,

As we prepare for the new year, we invite you to join us in a 21-day corporate fast starting on January 1st, 2025. Fasting is a powerful spiritual discipline that draws us closer to God, aligns our hearts with His will, and prepares us for the year ahead. Together, we’ll seek God’s guidance, grow in faith, and experience the benefits of this sacred practice.

Why Should We Fast?

Fasting is a biblical practice that brings spiritual renewal, breakthrough, and alignment with God. Here’s why we are called to fast:

1. Deepen Your Relationship with God

  • Fasting helps remove distractions and creates space to focus on prayer, worship, and Scripture.
  • Scripture: “Come near to God and He will come near to you.” (James 4:8)

2. Seek God’s Guidance and Breakthrough

  • When facing challenges, fasting can bring clarity and spiritual breakthrough.
  • Scripture: “This kind can only come out by prayer and fasting.” (Mark 9:29)

3. Demonstrate Humility and Dependence on God

  • Fasting is an act of surrender, acknowledging our need for God in every area of life.
  • Scripture: “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.” (James 4:10)

The Benefits of Fasting

  • Spiritual Renewal: Draw closer to God and experience His presence.
  • Breakthrough: Gain clarity, overcome obstacles, and grow in faith.
  • Unity: Align hearts and minds as a community seeking God together.
  • Physical and Emotional Reset: Detoxify the body, improve focus, and reduce stress.

Types of Fasting

Here are some fasting options to choose from:

1. Daniel Fast

  • A plant-based fast that excludes meat, dairy, and processed foods.
  • Focus: Eating whole, natural foods as mentioned in Daniel 10:2-3.
  • Recipe Ideas: Scroll down for recipes from Chef Treygaye!

2. Partial Fast

  • Fasting certain meals or types of food (e.g., skipping breakfast or sweets).

3. Liquid Fast

  • Consuming only liquids like water, tea, or juices.

4. Complete Fast

  • Abstaining from all food for a set period of time, focusing solely on prayer and Scripture.

5. Media/Social Media Fast

  • Abstaining from non-food distractions like social media to focus on spiritual growth.
